The Cole

Description
The Cole is an apartment complex that will wrap around three sides of the Second Street Garage. It will border Brown Street, Jackson Street, and Second Street. It is a $15 million private investment that is being built by a private developer. There is a total of 179 apartments with a mixture of 1,2,3 bedroom layouts. Along Jackson Street there will be about 14,000 square feet of retail space. Construction is to begin in the spring of 2010 and be complete in the summer of 2011.
Impact on the Community
The Cole would be centrally located within the downtown area. This would give residence the opportunity to be within walking distance to the city's retail shops, restaurants, and entertianment venues. It helps set up more residentail space in the downtown that would be walking distance from work and/or the ColuBUS system.
